Meet the Zodizoo
Throughout this website and our books you will see the animals of the Zodizoo. Twelve of these animals have their own book series (and puppets) at Zodiworks, other animals act as ambassadors to many of the English-speaking countries around the world.
As a fan of a good book, Will Pig stars in the first series of Zodireads Books, a series of wordless books, aimed at the pre-reading child. Will is a nurturing, loving fellow and is always looking out for the small and vulnerable creatures that he knows. Pamela Rabbit is one of his special friends. When faced with a challenge, Will resolutely does the best he can to find a solution to the difficulty. He is generally successful and appreciates the benefits of his hard work. A love of organization and order, along with his peaceful and kind nature, make Will a great Montessori student.
Sam Dog loves to meet new friends. She enjoys the company of others and they
enjoy her. She hopes to meet lots of new reading friends with her series of books, which help new readers practice the short vowel sounds and the simple sounds of consonants. Occasionally, Sam gets a bit over-exhausted looking after every one, and she enjoys a good rest, and she is never opposed to lazy day spent lying in the sun. Olivia Tiger is one of Sam's best friends; Olivia shines and Sam is the wind beneath her wings.
If you are responsible and reliable you'll like . Ned wants to do things right and is a bit of a perfectionist. Through the use of his series of Early Reader Books, children will perfect their knowledge of short vowel sounds and consonant blends. As an early bird himself, he appreciates others with his habits, those who like to get a head start on their work and strive to do the best they can, seeking success in what they do. Ned is an independent soul, and his needs for perfection can be a bit tiring to others, but Alex Ox is a good friend to Ned. Alex enjoys the benefits of Ned's talents and is tolerant of his perfectionism and independence.
Max Monkey enjoys a good time. By the time you get to his series of books 
that emphasize consonant digraphs, you should be having a good time with reading. Max figures by this time, now that they can sound out 800 words, readers will be a little bit more relaxed and lackadaisical with their reading and that works for him. He loves to be spontaneous and enjoys flexibility and a free-spirited approach to life. Riding his bicycle is one of Max's favorite thing to do.
Mild-
mannered and peaceful Pip Goat likes the comfort and security of being with her friends. Her mothering instincts are strong and Pip enjoys taking care of others. Pip is easy to talk to and always understanding when someone has a problem. Pip does have an inclination to worry about others, which can leave her moody and distracted. Pip gets along best with Sam, Will, and Pamela. By the time you get to Pip's series of books, you will know so many words, you will be able to nurture a few of your friends in reading.
Meg Horse enjoys sports and will happily join in any race or game that's going on, though her competitive nature can make her appear arrogant and a bit of a show-off at times. Meg likes to go places and see new things, often accompanied by her friend Liz Snake, riding on her back and whispering in her ears. Meg likes lots of attention, she enjoys performing and dressing up, and well, as I said, lots of attention. When you are reading Meg's series of books, you will see lots of words that need extra attention. Meg's series finishes up the phonetic readers. But don't worry, there are lots of other Zodibooks.
Liz Snake loves to make letters with her body and her series of alphabet and number books makes a great companion to Will's Wordless Book Series. They are just as charming as Liz herself is. As a friend of Meg Horse, Liz complements Meg's extroverted ways with a quiet thoughtfulness. She is wise beyond her years, and can often be found thinking about the larger questions of life, like "How can I go to sleep with all this noise?"
With a magic necklace around his neck, Kim Dragon is easy to spot. You
might also pick him out because he is a bit of a showboat. He loves to celebrate all the wonderful things in life with big, exuberant celebrations. All of Kim's friends know he will always be proud of their successes and share them with everyone else. Kim loves to learn and loves to figure things out. Like Liz Snake, he is wise beyond his years, and the others often seek him out for help. Kim is direct, to the point, and passionate about what matters to him. You will be passionate about his series of books that are all about finding things out. One thing you might find out what Kim's necklace allows him to do.
Working in her garden is Pamela Rabbit's favorite thing to do. She likes to keep her place neat and tidy and enjoys helping others. She and Will Pig are very good friends. Pamela's series of books is all about helping others as she and her friends help each other learn about writing and reading. Pamela wears her gold ballet slippers all the time, just in case the opportunity arises to dance.
Olivia Tiger also loves to dance. She is sensitive, generous, and charming and loves to entertain her friends with the plays she writes. Olivia and Sam Dog are best friends and the two of them love to make new friends. Both Olivia and Sam know traveling always leads to new adventures and making new friends. Olivia, who is from India, hopes you will enjoy her series of books about her trips she took to different places around the world.
Hardworking Alex Ox loves to build things. He is logical and methodical. He enjoys solving a puzzle and faces challenges calmly and with perseverance. These talents along with his dependability make Alex a valued friend, particularly for and Angus Rat. Alex hopes you will enjoy his series of books as much as he does. They are about how different things are made, and what they look like on the inside.
Angus Rat is industrious and hardworking, just like his friends Alex Ox and , and his series of Homework Books will help other industrious hardworking students. Angus likes to work hard to get things right. He checks his work carefully so he oan't make any silly mistakes. He is quick witted, charming, and always open to a new opportunity to get ahead. Angus is a good speaker and rather a domineering leader, so the other animals don't mind letting him be first in line . . . some of the time.
